Global Peace And Unity (GPU) Freedom For All Festival
The Global Peace and Unity Foundation, the non profit, self sustained organisation, is to hold its biennial ‘Freedom for All’ Festival at ExCel London on 23 & 24 November 2013. The Festival offers Muslim and non Muslim communities in the UK a platform for dialogue and the unique opportunity for those interested in peaceful co-existence to come together and celebrate the best of world cultures.
Over the past five Festivals, The Global Peace and Unity Festival has established itself as a landmark event and is now recognised as the largest gathering of its kind across Europe, with over 100,000 attendees in 2010.
This year’s GPU Festival, ‘Freedom for All’, will feature a variety of speakers including amongst others Sheikhs Yasir Qadhi, Waleed Basyouni and Yusuf Estes. In addition, there will be performances by Native Deen, Sound of Reason and other Anasheed artists and performers from around the world.
The Festival will play host to workshops, exhibitions, an international charity symposium, a Muslim marriage matrimonial and for the very first time a new featured book fair. The marriage matrimonial workshop has been organised with a focus on “How and where to look for a partner”, “The Practising Muslim Marriage”, “The professional Muslim Marriage” and returns after many marriages resulted from the first event in 2010.
The event will be supported by the Metropolitan Police, City of London Police, The Muslim Association of Britain, The Islamic Forum of Europe, Muslim Council of Wales, The Muslim Council of Britain and iEngage – Media awareness, political participation
GPU’s core aims are to promote dialogue, exchange ideas and information, and work towards dispelling misunderstandings surrounding the multiculturalism and co-existence of faiths. – GPU2013
