Charity Concert for the Philippines Disaster
Upcoming this 18th December, Lupe Fiasco will be having an exclusive performance and charity fundraising in aid of the Philippines Disaster Appeal and featuring in this performance lineup is our favourite Nasyeed and spiritual singer, Saif Adam. This event is also held with regards to the worsening colder weather in Syria affecting the refugees.
The event will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, happens right after Lupe’s tour of “Tetsuo & Youth Preview”, making this concert an event that is a fundraising event to increase the awareness of the devastation by the Haiyan Typhoon which cause a death toll of nearly 6000 and millions of damages. This event is held by HAAPIN, whom are based in Scotland as an avenue for youngsters to be volunteers and increase awareness regarding the plights of others around the world. In the previous year, HAAPIN had a charity concert and fundraiser also featuring Saif Adam as well as Outlandish.
Lupe Fiasco, also known as an American mainstream rapper who focuses on social issues and touch upon various topics, ranging from absent parents, Islam, religions and war. This is influenced by his childhood days living with separated but loving parents, being a Muslim in the city of Chicago and his pursuit of meaningful music and knowledge. Most would remember him featuring in the music collaboration with Patrick Stump entitled “This City” , this other song is very much well-known in most Muslim community, entitled “Muhammad Walks” ; This song is a remix of “Jesus Walks” by Kanye West. Prior to this charity concert, Lupe Fiasco has just completed his tour “Tetsuo & Youth” on Sunday, 15th December 2013. He is also active in conducting charity events, notably during the Haitian earthquake.
