As a testement to the continuing rise of Nasheed on the International arena, two groups and two singer have released their respective singles and albums. The most anticipated was The Harmony Band with their first album, followed by Hamza Namira with a long awaited single. Unity too released their single, while Tom Robertson produced one.
UNITY
Voted as one of Munsyeed’s Editor’s Choice of 2013, this South African nasheed group have published their third single on the 17th of January. This song was sneak peeked at a recent Mahir Zain’s concert, entitled ‘Forgiveness’. Another single from this group is ‘Live and Learn’, albeit released two months earlier, is also complied in this groups website, an equally amazing arranged song. Both singles are now finally completed and it is available for download at their SoundCloud as well as their ReverbNation
The Harmony Band
On 20th January, The Harmony Band finally released their latest album entitled “Peace Be Upon Us”. The reception for this album was tremendous, leading to the online store crashing, taking the group a few hours and a day to allow the high traffic volume to receive their fan’s own copy. After a long hiatus, this Egyptian singer finally published his single entitled “Wa Ollak Eh”. On the 21st of January, this soulful song that depicts a strong message to reconcile with one another among Egyptians was presented along with the music video, making his presence in the international arena felt even greater This single had garnered so much of attention that it became the number one in the trending chart of YouTube Egypt within 24 hours of it release, a testament to Hamza’s ability as a singer and a songwriter. With a collaboration with Sami Yusuf, this spiritual singer produced his latest single at the end of last year, following with the music video in the beginning of 2014.
